THREE MILE WALK
"The only record to topple during the afternoon went clattering
down after (Harold) Reigel of Patterson Park, Maryland,
Athletic club had heeled-and-toed three miles before a highly
interested crowd, the greater portion of which was receiving its
walking contest initiation. Reigel broke the tape in 22
minutes, 55 seconds, to send into the discard the time of 23
minutes 16 3-5 seconds set in 1926 by Michael Pecora of
Hazelton, Pa.,
Y. M. C. A." |
